Cookie policy
Last updated
This page lists every cookie we set, what it does, and how to disable it. Short version: we use first-party analytics cookies and (when accounts ship) first-party authentication cookies. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or tracking pixels.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. They let the site remember things between page loads (you signed in, you have a preference, you have been counted in analytics already). Cookies are not unique to us; almost every site uses them.
The cookies we set
Necessary cookies (when accounts ship)
When user accounts go live, we will use first-party cookies to keep you signed in across page loads. Without these, the account features would not work. These cookies do not track you across other sites; they only identify your session on mypickleballconnect.com.
- Provider: Supabase (the auth and database service we use).
- Purpose: keep you signed in.
- Lifetime: typically 7-30 days; renewed when you stay active.
Analytics cookies
We use Google Analytics 4 to count page views and understand which pages help players most. GA4 sets first-party cookies that send pseudonymous event data to Google. We do not link analytics data to anything personally identifying we already have, we do not run ad retargeting, and we do not share data with brokers.
- Provider: Google Analytics 4.
- Purpose: page-view counting, traffic source analysis, content performance.
- Lifetime: GA4 default (currently up to 14 months for user-level data).
You can opt out of GA4 by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, using a browser ad-blocker, or enabling Do Not Track in your browser.
Cookies set by retailers (affiliate links)
When you click an affiliate link (a product purchase link to Amazon, Selkirk, or another retailer), the retailer's site may set its own cookie to credit the referral. Those cookies are governed by the retailer's privacy policy, not ours. We do not see them and do not have access to them.
What we do NOT use
- No third-party advertising cookies.
- No retargeting pixels (Facebook, TikTok, Google Ads, etc.).
- No data-broker cookies.
- No fingerprinting or device-tracking that would survive cookie deletion.
How to disable cookies
Every modern browser lets you block, delete, or restrict cookies in its settings. Here are the direct paths:
If you block all cookies, the site will still work for browsing the directory and reading content. Account features (when they ship) will not work without the authentication cookie.
Changes
When we change this policy, we will update the date at the top.
